An insight into working at Aptamer Group
Hi Joel, firstly, what did you do before joining the company?
I have had a number of jobs with the common theme being customer engagement and communication. I have always found it rewarding to support and help people and customers achieve their goals. I also spent a year at the German biotechnology company Euroimmun, working to develop a microarray test kit for STIs. Interestingly I have discovered that aptamers can be used in this type of application as they work really well for biosensors, which you can read about on our website.
What attracted you to the role at Aptamer Group?
The job brings together my customer service experience and scientific knowledge, with the opportunity to learn and progress my career. It’s a very exciting time for the business as we are growing, so I have joined at an interesting point in its development.
How are you finding your new role here at Aptamer Group?
I am really enjoying it here. My day to day role varies with the different responsibilities that I have. My business development colleagues are very accessible if I have questions and the scientific team are always eager to help me understand the science behind the work they do.
Are there any particular aspects of the role that you enjoy the most?
I think the part of my job that I enjoy the most is helping the development of processes to improve efficiency and manage the business. When you can see the improvement in something you have done, you realise what you do matters. It also helps to be part of a diverse team who enjoy what they do and collaboration is key.
Thanks Joel, it has been great chatting and learning more about you and what you do at Aptamer Group!
